Route setting

Information

Each week sections of the climbing walls are striped down and reset so you as a customer are able to try something new every week!

Setting rota info can be found above community board in Bloc or follow us on Instagram for weekly updates.
V-Grading System

We use the V-Grading system, starting from VB up to V10. Each climb will be marked with a coloured tag corresponding to the grade of that climb. The coloured grading can be found when walking onto the matted area, however each tag has the grade on for climbers ease.

In the majority of zones you will find every grade, ranging from beginner to some of the hardest grades in climbing.

Comp Style

Competition or 'comp style' offers a more dynamic style of climbing. Technical coordination of momentum and body awareness is what makes it differ from traditional indoor climbing.

Our designated four and a half meter comp wall is the perfect place to try this unique style of climbing.

We also offer a range of comp style grades throughout the centre, meaning in each zone you can try your hand at problems similar in style to those in bouldering competition.

No Big Moves

Climbing is for all whether short or tall. Having short reach routes allows everyone to complete moves and problems no matter the height, allowing all climbers to push their grades. Currently set using a 'no big moves' tag along side its designated V-Grade tag.

The Setters

We have a fantastic team of setters all providing variety in their own setting styles. Both our in-house and guest setters have the experience and know how to test climbers in each grade range from balance, footwork, strength and coordination. Helping you improve and work through the grades.

I climb at bloc twice a week it has great music, staff and climbing. The atmosphere is amazing full of friendly positive people and has great clubs for all ages.
